BASKETBALL (HALF-COURT) Competition Overview

A half-court game of basket is perfect to develop skills when there are less than 10 players in the game. The game is played in the half-court and both the team has to shoot in the same basket.

This particular competition is our highest level of inter-school competition. It is open to all International schools, half Court uses a unique set of rules based on the gameplay of the FIBA rules. The FIBA 3×3 rules can be found here.

All matches are played outdoor in a very well esteemed Basketball field. 

No three-point shot is awarded only one point is awarded for foul shots and for the shots that are finished inside the arc. Also when the shot is made outside the arc 2 points are awarded. 

RULES

There will be a 21-point maximum for every game. If one team reaches 21 points before the regulation time (10 mins), the team has won, and that game is over. If the game is tied at the end of regulation, the team who scores two points first wins the game.

If the game goes into overtime with a score of 20:20, then the final score should be recorded as 21:20, not 22:20.

Group Phase: This competition is based on the Champions League format. Teams will be drawn in groups  with each team playing each other once. In the group phase the winner will gain 5 points. The Own the Court Bonus is awarded to the team with the highest total number of game points scored (in four three-group games). If two teams have the same total amount of game points, the head-to-head winner of those two teams gets the bonus. 

Knockout Phase: The winners and runners-up of each group will progress to the knockout phase.
